About this activity
Just minutes from Cusco lies a place that most mass tourism overlooks, where massive stone sculptures depict Andean deities and mythical figures: Morada de los Dioses, also known as Apukunaq Tianan, “the seat of the apus” in Quechua.
This tour combines the thrill of driving your own ATV along rural roads through the Cusco countryside with the surprise of discovering a cultural and artistic site unlike anything else on the traditional tourist circuits. It’s ideal for travelers looking for a short, active and different outing without straying too far from the city.
Itinerary
Day 01
Cusco – Sencca (Tica Tica) – Morada de los Dioses – Cusco
Cusco – Sencca (Tica Tica) – Morada de los Dioses – Cusco
The tour begins at a previously coordinated time, as this is a half-day experience. At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to start the journey.
Next, we travel by vehicle for approximately 25 minutes to the base camp located in the Sencca, Tica Tica area. Upon arrival, your guide will provide a safety briefing and explain how to operate the ATV.
Before starting the route, you will have approximately 15 minutes for a short riding practice. This gives you time to become familiar with the ATV before heading out on the trail.
We then begin an approximately one-hour ATV ride along rural roads and through the surrounding Andean scenery. Depending on the operating route that day, there may be a stop at the remains of a colonial-era aqueduct in the area.
Afterward, we arrive at Morada de los Dioses, also known as Apukunaq Tianan. You will have approximately 30 minutes of free time to explore the sculptures, walk around the site, and take photographs.
Finally, we return to Cusco by vehicle. The complete experience lasts approximately five hours, including transfers, the safety briefing, riding practice, the ATV route, and the visit to Morada de los Dioses.
